"If Wintour is the Pope . . . , Coddington is Michelangelo, trying to paint a fresh version of the Sistine Chapel twelve times a year,” Time magazine (2009)

Grace Coddington, is prehaps fashion best kept secret and the master mind behind the pages of vogue.  The mystery that surrounded her was unfolded for all to see In the 2009 documentary "the September issue."

Coddington tremendous talent is what got her her position but, its her will to stay true to the art that is fashion and never caving in to what's "in"  is what has kept her in an industry as fierce as  fashion  for so many years.

Working with some of the greatest photographers including including Helmut Newton, Mario Testino, Annie Leibovitz and Snowdon Coddington has created nothing but art, since that fine morning in 1988 when she was appointed her job as creative director of vogue.  Coddington first got her taste of the industry when she won a modeling contest at age 17 and has since transcended fashion to not just what meets the eye but into a story filled with creativity and heart wrenching passion.

"I was never considered beautiful anyway. I was a character. Not a beautiful blonde with blue eyes."said Coddington, "Beauty is not about perfection. I prefer imperfections – it's much more interesting."

Though vogue was an already successful brand before Coddington joined the team her raw talent shiffted the image from luxury fashion to extreme creativity, that cant be match.
